It is our pleasure to welcome you to the Bangladesh Australia Society of South Australia (BASSA) website. BASSA is one of the the oldest ethnic community organisations in South Australia and it is the oldest Bengali community organisation in Australia.
In the last 25 years BASSA has served as the information gateway on all aspects of the growing Bangladeshi community in South Australia offering practical help to Bangladeshi people new to Adelaide. It provides the opportunity for immigrats, visitors, students and anyone who are new to South Australia to easily accommodate themselves within the Bangladeshi community and to integrate into the diverse South Australian multicultural environment. BASSA members regularly participate in multicultural functions to showcase Bengali culture, and the society has formed strong links to other community groups and government agencies. For more than a decade Adelaide Bangla School of BASSA has been a strong participant in South Australia’s multicultural life and has actively promoted cultural diversity and harmony in the Adelaide community.
If you are interested in Bengali language, lifestyle, values and culture, as a non-political and non-profit socio-cultural organisation you are most welcome to the BASSA webpage regardless of your background. If you see any aspects of community life where BASSA might be of use, feel free to contact BASSA executive committee members.
With regards,
Executive Committee
Bangladesh Australia Society of South Australia (BASSA)
